You have a distant relative who owns a remarkable antique shop. Well, they say they’re a distant relative but you’re not really sure. Your cousin who works for him says she has no idea how you’re related either, but that’s beside the point. You’ve gone to work for the shop over the summer. You’ve just come off a very bad break-up and your cousin has invited you to stay in her apartment while she isn’t using it. Your distant relative also gave you a job and it pays amazingly well.
The shop is full of remarkable things. Every corner stuffed full with amazing antiquities you’re quite sure should belong in a museum. You’re shocked by how slow it is, you’d figure the way your relative pays and the way your cousins (several works for them) talk about the business, you’d think this place was a constant, non-stop stream of people. You’ve yet to see more than a handful of people in your first week. Granted, what they buy is often over four digits.

You were recently hired on your first space mission, needless to say you were excited. Once onboard you were shown around to the various labs you would be working in. You were to be studying the botany of several locations the ship would be docking at. At each planet you were going to take samples and compare them to samples brought from earth.
Although, it was going to be a while before you landed on the first planet to start your mission. So your work comprised of lab checks and other various busy work that you had been doing back on earth. You felt you might as well have never left the lab back home. Aside from some new faces, everything felt the same.
Your most favorite part of the day was when you went to the cafeteria for lunch. The food was ok but you really enjoyed seeing all the different people there. So many different alien species were congregated in one place. It was fascinating to see them. You couldn’t help but let your mind drift, wondering what it would be like to have an alien partner. You didn’t have many friends on board and it was starting to get lonely.
Once upon a time, there was an adorable little musician, she lived across the way from a very sexy and hunky neanderthal man. The two met and while it was rocky at first they fell in love! They made out a lot but the neanderthal wouldn’t give in to the wily charms of the adorable musician, not right away anyways. After several dates, a lot of necking, and many many heated texting conversations, the neanderthal, and the musician finally made love.
Ok, I’ll stop with that. Anyways, Dahma and I have been together for a few months now. In that time I managed to get a job at a recording studio as a fill-in musician. From there, I actually got hired on by a band! I’ve been playing with them for a couple of months now and even went on tour with them. I hated leaving Dahma, but we were diligent in our phone calls as well as video chats. When I got back home Dahma had a huge shocker for me.
He wanted us to move in together! I was so excited. We looked at houses and discussed the things we wanted until we finally found the perfect little place. It was close to my work at the studio as well as Dahma’s job at the school. There was also a massive backyard with lots of potential. The perfect place for Dahma and me. I’d never lived with anyone before, well, I mean, I have just not anyone I was in love with. I was nervous. Dahma is such a smart, well together guy. I only got to this point in my life because of him. Living with him I was worried he’d get annoyed with me and he’d see me as childish. I didn’t want this amazing man slipping through my fingers, so I decided to try and be more grown-up like.

As you walk into work you check over your schedule for the day. You’re excited when you see that a big chunk of your day is going to be devoted to one of your favorite clients. Lon was one of your first customers when you started working at the tattoo parlor. Ever since then he’s requested you each and every time he wanted more work. He’s was very nice and you had a good connection with him. You had great conversations with him and sometimes you could tell they bordered on flirting.
You liked Lon as a canvas. He was a big guy with a broad, strong back, thick arms, trunk-like thighs, not to mention a chest you could motorboat. Not that you would! You would never do that to a client. But there was just something special about Lon.
You beam when he walks in and greet him with a hug. “Long time no see,” you say. “So what are we working on today?”
Hearthway Hollow was the town you grew up in, but around the time you turned thirteen you had to go move in with your grandmother. You were going to miss Hearthway Hollow, it was surrounded by forest that you loved to explore and play in. Not to mention you’d miss all the wolves that lived around the town. Luckily, your grandmother didn’t live too far from a national park and you spent any free time you had there.
After your grandmother died, you decided to move back to Hearthway Hollow. You had been working in the National Park as a ranger and you had seen there was a job opening for a conservation ranger very close to your beloved hometown.
Not much had changed, although town seemed to be much busier than it used to be. There were more shops and business but other than that everything felt the same. You felt at home. You found a nice little place to rent that surrounded by the nature you so loved.

You’ve been noticing something strange happening around your apartment building. You had moved their because it was inexpensive, down right cheap really, as well as being close to your job. The downside to that was it was in a bad part of town, it usually stunk like piss and garbage, and the street was littered and filthy. Not to mention you might as well sleep at work if you had to go home at night.
What was strange was that recently the smell was actually pleasant. Outside the street seemed clean and in fact, flowers were growing in the small bare patches where the trees had been uprooted. You had also noticed that at night it was actually quiet outside. You had even heard from your neighbors that they had noticed it seemed safer out. These weren’t the sort of things that should be strange, but they were. Hell, even the water in your shower seemed cleaner.
You were also starting to notice other things. You were almost one hundred percent certain you needed to buy milk, but when you checked the fridge the half-gallon was just fine, nearly full even. There also seemed to be more food in there before, things you liked too. There was never food you wanted in the fridge, ever.
