It’s almost as if schools push and ideology that benefits schools.
Bruh, trades are in high fucking demand right now too. Between now and 2020 there are suppose to be 300,000 more jobs and that’s just for welder.
Shit, they’ll pay for you to learn how to do it.
I just finished high school and got a untility job in a factory and I have almost no experience. They’re gonna train me for everything plus it has full health benefits.
Trades are fucking great.
My husband is a welder, and is very very good at it. He got hired by a locksmith company pretty much just by walking in and going “Yes I can weld.”
All of the other guys there were great at locksmithing, but none of them were trained welders, and they needed someone who could build custom doors and frames.
They trained him to do lock stuff too, so now he can weld AND pick locks.
The owner of the company, when he handed out Christmas bonuses, looked at him and went “Dude we literally cannot fire you because we’d be screwed so here’s your bonus and also we’re giving you a raise.”
Welders are in desperate demand.
Blows kisses to this post.
Anyway, learn a trade, unionize, wear your PPE, memorize OSHA’s phone number.
After hearing rumors of an odd sinkhole in your town, you decided to investigate. After finding it you fall in, and suddenly regret coming alone. Especially now as you hear a voice asking for help. Upon going to the voice you see a massive creature.
“Human… please… protect my children…” it said before presenting you a clutch of 5 eggs.
“Ohhh shlit” you whisper before straightening your back.
“Yeah, sure” you nod getting what you think is a grateful smile from the creature. “What do they need, food wise? Can they bathe normal? Is light ok? Are you ok” you fire off questions.
The being, still half blended in shadows gives a raspy chuckle. They explain everything the children will need from you.
“Doesn’t seem too hard” you comment under your breathe. “But what about you, are you sure I can’t just get you help?” you asked sadly.
“No human” they shook their head before rattling out a cough. “It is too late for me” they said and you nodded.
Another would be smile and you shook hand to much bigger hand.
The creature kissed each egg before going into a corner and to your horror, stopped moving after another cough.
You went over and gently patted them. “Hello” you asked.
No reaction.
As you teared up you tried to distract yourself by looking for something to help you carry the eggs.
You found an old but sturdy stich blanket and found a way to tie it around yourself before securing the eggs inside. Once you knew they were safe you went over to the fallen creature.
“I’ll protect them” you once more promised, gently touching their huge sleek shoulder before moving back towards the sinkhole.
You look up, hands on hip and eggs nestled against you. ‘How the hell’ you wonder.
Then you see some stones, branches, and gaps in the walls and test a few out.
Slowly, you make your way up.
“Should not have skipped arm day” you grunt just as you reach the top and painfully pull yourself and the little critters out.
You look down at them and your dirty body. “How am I going to explain this?” you wonder.
