“It’s ridiculous.”
“It’s perfect.” Sirius beamed, and tucked his hands in the pockets of his leather jacket, proudly looking down at the – if he had to say so himself – incredibly fashionable shape of his godson, who was comfortably lying in his crib.
James gave him a frown, and looked down at Harry again. Harry was lazily following the conversation of his dad and godfather with his eyes, which were only barely peeking from above the collar of the kid-sized jacket. One that matched Sirius’ own adult sized one. “I’m not entirely sure Lily will approve, anyway.” He reached for the zipper, and Sirius grabbed him by the wrist. “Why wouldn’t she? You’re never too young to be punk rock. Isn’t that right, mini-prongs?”
Harry gurgled, legs kicking in his red onesie, and Sirius couldn’t help but be charmed by the little bundle of tiny human, as much as he proclaimed to dislike children.
“He’s only 3 months old, Sirius.”
“Which is why I bought it big enough! So he can wear it for a while.”
James snorted.
“And it was the smallest size they had.” Sirius added, a guilty smile playing around his lips.
“That’s what I thought.”
“I also bought some hair gel for the finishing touch, so maybe we can…”
“No.”
Sirius heaved a dramatic sigh, and flicked his hair. “Fine. Merlin, James, you’re so stuck up. Not as cool as we are, right, Harry?”
Harry happily cooed in response, and drooled over his jacket, making Sirius scrunch up his nose.
“… We have to work on the saliva issue though.”
That remark earned him a swat on the arm from James. “You’re not really one to complain about that, Padfoot.”
“Once your kid manages to become a dog Animagus, he will have earned the right to drool. And he’s wearing Muggle haute couture, so some respect is in order.” Sirius replied haughtily, but did wipe his thumb over Harry’s lip, clearing away some of the spit and wiping it on his jeans. “It’s okay, buddy. Ladies dig you anyway. Must have gotten that from your godfather.”
James only rolled his eyes.
