People need to realize the significance of this post, because when I reblogged it it was just blank so I think some people may not understand what this is trying to say
Adopting an animal (or buying from someone close to you who has recently had puppies, kittens, etc) is not like simply going to the store and buying a toy. You do not just get to throw it away once you are done with it and it stops being cute in your eyes
This is a real living thing that has emotions, needs, and wants, not something to be thrown away when YOU are done after YOU entered at commitment to raise and care for this animal.
What’s just as bad as dumping the animal off just anywhere you want, whether it be on the side of the road or in a shelter, is that a lot of these animals end up dying after that. Animals are NOT always adopted and strays are not always picked up. Animals can get put down, run over, tortured, and a list of other things
People should really think about what they are responsible for before they bring an animal into their life
Not to mention that that animal loves you, you are his world, and when you drop him off at the shelter – or worse, in the street – you are abandoning him. He doesn’t know what he did wrong, he thinks you’ll come back, maybe you just dropped him off for a bit and you’ll come back to him. Not only did you make a commitment, but that animal loves you and throwing them away isn’t just breaking that commitment, it’s throwing away someone who doesn’t understand why you don’t love him anymore and where you went.
This is so important. Animals are NOT toys you just can’t return them because you got bored. Think first before you buy a cute little puppy for your stupid girlfriend or sister or whatever. Okay. This just make me so mad that I can’t keep talking about it. Seriously you have no heart if you do this. Seriously
With Christmas coming up in a few weeks, I felt this needed reiterating.
Reblogging for the holidays. Know what you’re getting into when buying a pet!
Cannot not reblog 😢
And this goes for all the other pets too. Not dogs only.
They are living beings. Not toys to play with and then discard once you are tired of them.
Be responsable! Be sure to be actually able to take good care of your pets BEFORE to adopt them/buy them.
That it’s the damn feels man
I just had to give my cat a hug. Oomf. I’ve had one since 2012 one since.. I think 2014 and another in 2016. Please love your babies. There your babies and you’ll only have them for a little while. :,(
I can absolutely guarantee this is what happened to my dog. We adopted her from the shelter at a year old (almost exactly), and it was very clear that her previous owners weren’t prepared to take care of a large dog. They hadn’t been feeding or exercising her enough; it was like she was afraid to even take up space.
Big dogs are doofy. They get in the way, they love you with all 80+ pounds, they step on your feet, they play hard. They’re expensive, oh my god. They eat so much, they destroy toys, they accidentally tear down curtains, and flatten their beds in no time at all.
They’re a huge commitment. They’re not a whim, they’re not a surprise or a gift or a spur of the moment decision.
But if you have the time, space, and energy to devote, that puppy can become a family member.
When I went to adopt my cat, the person helping me at the shelter was like “are you sure you want him? Because another family took him home for about 2 weeks and then brought him back because he was too aggressive.”
I won’t not reblog this. Mateo is a personal friend of mine and this needs more attention than it’s been getting. He was dragged out of the room by his collar, the police wouldn’t let him use his wheelchair.
Mateo will not be silenced, and he will not be erased.
You just went back in time to the Salem Witch Trials. You show them a simple card magic trick. Write about the uproar.
I’m finally ready to admit the truth.
Many don’t know it, but traveling back in time and showing some simple parlor magic tricks in hopes of changing peoples minds right before the Witch Trials is actually what started them in the first place.
I also tried to entertain them with the rabbit in a hat trick.
The only thing that saved mine and Fuffie the rabbit’s lives was a smoke bomb vanishing act.
Story of my life.
I went back in time to show some harmless magic and ended up being the reason that a major tragedy happened in the first place.
Life and time is a circle none of us can ever escape.
I’ll put my cards and wand away with shame now. Never to be used again.
A guy who knows about the guy who wants to kill a kid, deciding that the kid must die at that guy’s hands at the proper moment, so he sends the kid off to a bad place where he is unhappy and unhealthy his whole childhood. Where he learns to not care about his well being and doesn’t know this guy is keeping vital information about him from him his entire life, so he’ll grow up one day and let that guy who wants to kill him, kill him because he thinks it’s the only way to finish him off.
I love how pissed off I get people when I point out that Albus Dumbledore is not a saint and shouldn’t be put on a pedestal. He fucked up. A lot. Tom, Severus, and Harry are all examples of his fuck ups and what his action and inaction did to them.
