writing-prompt-s:

You decide to do an experiment one night. As you’re about to fall asleep, your hand slips off the side of the bed and dangles freely. You quietly wait until you feel what seems to be a hand slowly grab your arm. Instead of recoiling, tonight you decide to grab back.

You drag what turns out to be a hulk of a monster up on your bed. There were multiple eyes and arms. Black, silky hair every where and you spotted horns.

Their stunned state gave you the upper hand an you took it.

“I want answers. Shadow people, werewolves, closet monsters, the lot” you demand.

“What?” the monster, apparently male asked in a surprisingly normal deep voice.

“Are they real? Also, why’d you grab me” you insist. “Don’t play dumb with me buddy” you scoff doing your best tough cop impression.

He crossed his bulky arms and had an almost amused expression on his admittedly face interesting that you find oddly pleasant.

“That’s a tough question to answer” he said.

He even added a cocky little shrug and smirk, showing off some killer teeth.

You narrowed your eyes.

It sounded like you were being teased and you did NOT appreciate it.

It took a lot of courage to concur your childhood fears and try this. In fact, you used to be so scared that you slept with a mattress on the floor so nothing could grab you. Now that you were so close to the answers you so desperately sought, you weren’t about to be denied.

You crossed your arms and slapped on your own smirk to match the creature’s.

“Well then” you started and notice the beginning of disbelief settle on his face.

“I hope you like coffee because we’re in for a long night” you finish with sternly.

The creature smiles. Was it just your imagination or did he look excited?
