You were honestly a bit surprised that Bill asked you to come and visit for Easter brunch. Beyond excited– you’d gotten very close with Bill through your time with Hogwarts and now as you both worked at Gringotts.
Saying you had feelings for him would be pretty accurate.
Perhaps a bit of an underexaggeration, since you were completely smitten and couldn’t stop thinking about him–
But all in all, pretty accurate.
You flattened out your blouse before apparating to the Burrow, and found yourself hoping that your heart would stop pounding uncomfortably in your chest.
It was Bill.
These were the Weasleys who you’d known for ages.
You’d come here plenty of times.
Things would be fine.
Bill really couldn’t stop looking at you.
It was awful really.
Not you, not anything about that, but the fact that it was so painfully obvious and his family seemed so intent on making fun of him for it.
Bill considered himself more calm than Charlie, though they were still quite similar, but if the twins made one more joke about the situation then he was about to throw them both over his shoulder and launch them into the pond.
A hard thing to do, seeing as they were solidly teenagers now, but Bill was a man of determination and commitment.
Hopefully something you might appreciate.
There was something Ginny said to you right out of Bill’s earshot, though he could hear your laugh ring out as your head tilted back, the expanse of your neck exposing itself to him. Bill sucked in a breath and released it from between his teeth.
He should probably be used to it by now, seeing as he’d felt like this since Hogwarts, but apparently that part of his brain wasn’t great.
Percy shot him a knowing look, which quickly changed to an encouraging smile as Bill’s lips pursed into a thin line.
Did everyone know?
How the hell did everyone know?
Even Mum knew– and Bill doubted anyone outright told her.
Speaking of his mother, if he didn’t get you away from her she was going to start trying to set up a wedding all by herself. She was already talking to you about how happy she was you and him were so close.
Bill strode into the sitting room where you were with what he hoped looked like an easy grin, “Hey Y/N, why don’t we go for a walk?”
I’ve reblogged this so many times because I truly think every parent should involve themselves with what their child enjoys.
Not to mention this is an act of solidarity. He’s saying “even if the entire world is against you, I’m on your side.” Which I think is important for a kid to know. He’s refusing to be a bully to his child, even if he doesn’t understand.
I work at Hot Topic and we had a white suburban dad in who was buying matching heavy metal/screamo band shirts for him and his teenage daughter and said “To be honest, I think this stuff sounds like garbage, but she likes it so we listen to it together and we’re going to the concert for Christmas.” And it was just really heartwarming to see him so involved in his child’s life and validating her interests.
I WILL NEVER NOT REBLOG THIS.
“I don’t get it, but I love how you love it” is one of the best things anyone can say. My entire family asks questions about comics because they want to share my enthusiasm for them and support me, even though they otherwise wouldn’t pay attention to the industry at all.
I get questions all the time about the things i like, weather it is bands or youtubers from my mom, but when I go over to my dads it is so obvious that he does not understand or know why I like it but it makes me happy knowing that he tries.
for all the people saying “I’m slytherin because I’m sarcastic”. did you know that it’s mostly ravenclaws that are sarcastic? or gryffindors who are “brutally honest”. not saying that slytherins don’t have those traits, but to mainly identify them as slytherin is false. slytherins are loyal (not like hufflepuffs) to THEMSELVES first (whereas hufflepuffs are loyal to others first) and then FRIENDS/FAMILY (those they love) second.
this is why we see narcissa turn against Voldemort in the deathly hallows because Draco, someone she loved, was ok. therefore she didn’t care who won anymore as long as those she loved were safe.
also, if slytherins had the choice to save someone they love or 50 strangers, they would save the person they love/care about. they care about their kin before anyone else.
that’s why people say they’re mean and whatnot. because they don’t really care for those outside their small (yes, small) inner circle.
-mic drop-
ALSO
(i got a comment from a gryffindor saying that slytherins are bullies and jerks and all dark so)
it’s not just slytherins who have a bad rep. Gryffinjerks (sorry, I saw the opportunity) are known for being complete douche-jocks. “But not all Gryffindors!” No! Of course not! And no one tends to focus on them anyways. Or snotty Ravenclaws. Or rude Hufflepuffs. Why? Because they’re not the bad guys But apparently Slytherin is?? Slytherin is filled with evil people. NO. Some. Yes. But not everyone. Just like every single house has their ‘bad apples’, slytherin does too. But WHY do people only focus on that??? Merlin was a Slytherin. (oooh. now he’s evil right?) Also, the reason why the dark wizards were mostly from Slytherin is, I believe, because no other house has the loyalty or support from their friends to be able to pull it off. I’m not saying that it’s right. But it is factual. Basically, I’m tired of saying “I’m a slytherin!” and then people stop talking to me because I’m all of a sudden “’evil”’.
