If you’re someone affected by the platform’s definition of what they’re going to be banning, I strongly suggest you back up your Tumblr blog. RIGHT NOW. Info on how to do that is here.
I can’t think why my own Tumblr would be affected, but I’ll be backing things up too… because in situations like this one might expect the algorithm to get a little out of hand and make mistakes that one might or might not be able to recover from. (See this article.)
For safety’s sake – because I’d very much dislike losing the content I’ve shared with other people here – I’l be embodying my Tumblr content in a new WordPress blog over the coming days. I’ll share the address here when it’s ready, for those who might be interested.
But in the meantime, seriously: friends and cousins, back yourselves up.
Even if you run a SFW blog, back that puppy up asap.
On the 10 year anniversary of Twilight, director Catherine Hardwicke reflects back on her hit film. With an opening weekend of just over $69 million, the film went on to earn $192 million in the U.S. alone, at the time a record breaking sum for a film directed by a woman.
Hardwicke’s description of Summit’s reaction to the financial success of the film:
When I went in I saw that there were massive bouquets and balloons and bottles of wine, and crazy gifts sent to them by all the distributors around the world or whoever, all their friends. So I actually had it in my mind, wow, this is a pretty unprecedented success. I had heard these rumors that when a director does something like this they give them a car, they give them a two-picture deal or something like that. They give them an office and ask them what they want to do after this.
And then I got a mini cupcake that day. I was like oh, OK, cool—coming in here, I’m sort of working for free, doing this online stuff, and that was what I was offered: a mini cupcake.
Scary antagonistic vampires with dark skin.
what have I BEEN saying about stephanie meyer
Also suddenly that oh she came from a sunny place but was still pale as fuck and paler than her classmates who live in a rainy place thing is so clear and why she found so many fucking words for pale white skin.
And let’s not forget the little affair with the brown boy but only to bide time till my pale white man comes back. And then also that werewolves were angry and exclusively brown? 🤔
Not to mention the that the treatment of the Jacob and the rest of the Indigenous characters in the book was racist af. Jacob was written as the aggressive Brown boy then Meyer turns him into a predatory, pedophile by having him imprint on Bella’s daughter. Hell, most of the Indigenous male characters were written as abusive and predatory.
In the movie they managed to find Indigenous actors to portray the wolf pack and everyone gave the films woke points for that. But they whitewashed Jacob and had Taylor Lautner say that he was 1/645 Indigenous to save face.
Also, the treatment of Leah was god awful. She was dumped by her bf for her own cousin cause she wasn’t his “true love.” She is rightfully upset about it but everyone tells to get over it. She turns into a werewolf which results in her father’s death and is force to be in a pack where all the guys hate her, including her brother. Because Meyer just hates her, Leah also can’t have children or fall in love with anyone because she’s the only female werewolf.
Oh my god you’re absolutely right and then Alicr who everyone is like oh she’s so cute ladida is fucking married to a guy who was a confederate?
Opposition to same-sex marriage has decreased across a broad swath of religious groups in the United States, with white evangelical Christians one of the few movements for which a majority remains in opposition. Three years on from the Supreme Court ruling that same-sex couples should be allowed to marry, the findings from the Public Religion Research Institute’s 2017 American Values Atlas, published Tuesday, showed growing support for LGBT rights, including a majority of U.S. Muslims backing same-sex marriage for the first time.
Muslims, by a margin of 51 percent to 34 percent, favor same-sex marriage, compared to just four years ago when a majority, 51 percent, were opposed. There were similar results for black Protestants, with 54 percent opposing gay marriage in PRRI’s 2014 American Values Atlas, compared with 43 percent in the latest findings.
Indeed, opposition to same-sex marriage is now limited almost entirely to white conservative Christians. Fifty-eight percent of white evangelical Christians and 53 percent of Mormons—an overwhelming majority of whom are white—are opposed to allowing gay couples to marry. The group with the most opposition, though, is Jehovah’s Witnesses, a group which is 36 percent white, 32 percent Hispanic and 27 percent black in the U.S. Just 13 percent support the law.
I didn’t know this! I’m so happy! Alhumdulillah!!!!
Most religious groups in the U.S. now support same-sex marriage, including overwhelming majorities of Unitarians (97%), Buddhists (80%), the religiously unaffiliated (80%), Jewish Americans (77%), and Hindus (75%). Roughly two-thirds of white mainline Protestants (67%), white Catholics (66%), Orthodox Christians (66%), and Hispanic Catholics (65%) also favor same-sex marriage. A slim majority of Muslims (51%) favor same-sex marriage, but only 34% are opposed; 15% offer no opinion on this issue.
It basically leaves only Mormons and White Evangelical and Protestants as the last religious groups against gay marriage.
So I know this isn’t right but I got confused for a second and thought those percentages were part of a whole, so like 80% of the LGBT community were Buddhist, so in conclusion America is 658% gay

“I’d like to say this is a learning moment for a lot of people that it’s OK for animals to be gay,” Chaselyn said. “It’s OK for humans to be gay, or pan, or bi, or transgender. If you’re not OK with your dog being gay, you should take a look at yourself and your own identity.”
The Trump administration on Friday rolled back rules that allowed transgender inmates to use facilities that match their gender identity, including cell blocks and bathrooms, thereby reversing course on an Obama administration effort to protect transgender prisoners from sexual abuse and assault.
The Bureau of Prisons now “will use biological sex” to make initial determinations in the type of housing transgender inmates are assigned, according to a notice posted Friday evening that modifies the previous policy.
“The designation to a facility of the inmate’s identified gender would be appropriate only in rare cases,” the new Transgender Offender Manual now says.
You approach everything in life with wide-eyed curiosity, and no matter how much you know, you always want to learn more. You can be a little awkward in social situations and tend to be more yourself when you’re in a smaller group of people you know really well. You’re not afraid of geeking out when you come across something you find really interesting and are super enthusiastic when it comes to your passions.
